WINE MERCHANT

PRIVACY

Short, because there is little to tell.

This website

This site is static files. It sets no cookies, runs no ad or analytics scripts, and collects nothing about you. Links to the store are tagged with plain source labels (utm parameters) so we can see, in the store's own reports, which page a buyer came from — those labels describe the page, never you.

The game and the demo

Wine Merchant is a single offline file. It runs without internet, keeps its saves in your own browser or as files on your machine, and sends nothing anywhere by default.

Inside the game there is one optional, clearly-labeled switch: the guild tally. If — and only if — you turn it on, the game sends anonymous play counts (a random ID, the game version, which weeks and screens got played, final grades) to our own small board server. Never your name, never your saves, never anything about your machine. The switch lives in the game menu and can be turned off there at any time; the code that does this is readable inside the game file itself.

The store (itch.io)

Purchases and downloads happen on itch.io, which has its own account system and privacy policy. We see itch's standard seller reports (sales counts, page views); we never see your payment details.

Multiplayer boards (when open)

The Weekly Cellar Challenge and the Ledger of Record accept only what you choose to submit: a shop name you type and the run file the game made. Boards show standings — numbers, never personal data.
